What is healing:
You may be wondering what healing is or even why you may need it?
Healing works on all forms of life and is a means of kick-starting the body into regulating itself, and to help smooth out all physical, mental, emotional or spiritual problems.
According to Margrit Coates – world authority on healing: “Hands-on-healing is the oldest form of natural therapy, dating back to the dawn of history. Two-thousand-year old Vedic texts describe universal energy, and how this can be channelled deep into the body’s cells through energy centres called charkas. In Egyptian temples the priests are known to have used the laying on of hands to give healing to the sick. The Greek philosopher Hippocrates noticed that healers produced sensations of tingling and heat, which was accompanied by the relief of their patients’ symptoms. He concluded that healing energy is the vital force of life, something that today’s scientists continue to research. It is often called spiritual healing because it works with the life force of the individual body, whatever the species.”
“Spiritual Healing – the word ‘spirit’ refers to the life force or vital essence of a living being, so to describe our life as spiritual means tuning in to our non-physical part. This is a personal process and religious beliefs are not necessary. Spiritual healing therefore means healing the vial essences of a person or animal. This life force is the soul energy.”
“The healer is the channel for the spiritual source of universal healing energy. This source provides what is needed to match what is missing or out of balance in the body. The energy is directed through the life force or vital essence of the body by the good intent of the healer. Healing can work physically, mentally or emotionally. The body takes what it needs at that time and the healer has no control over this, but through love offers general healing help.”
Why you may need healing:
You may need healing because you are not feeling well, are stressed or you are physically, mentally or emotionally going through a difficult time. To have some healing can make you feel better and can address the imbalance that is causing you to feel unwell.
Reiki healing:
The word Reiki means universal life energy. Reiki is an ancient form of healing, that was developed by a Japanese monk named Mikao Usui in the 19th century. It is a form of healing that is a laying on of hands – a touch healing system of incomparable ease and power. It can provide people and animals with comfort and pain relief, and has been known to alleviate and help many forms of physical and mental illness and trauma. Throughout the ages, people have been healed simply through touch, through the energy of love that is channelled through the hands. Reiki uses this same principle with the added strength and benefit of the chi energy or universal life force.
The Reiki practitioner acts as a channel for chi energy or universal life force, by using the hands as electrodes. With the practitioner channelling the energy, the client’s own innate wisdom draws as much Reiki as is needed. The Reiki healer is able to direct specific energy to the source of the problem, or unblock the vital force in the specific problem area.
Reiki is measured in classes or degrees, which are centred on “empowerments” or “attunements”. The teacher opens the student’s energy centres and aligns them with Reiki. Each class consists of a theoretical framework for Reiki, its history, and how and when to use it; there is also a lot of practice and discussion. There are three levels of Reiki classes; each one deepens the student’s proficiency in Reiki. The Level 1 class enables the student to give “hands on” treatments. The Level 11 class focuses on absent treatments and more emotional issues, while Level 111 enables a student to become a teacher.
A Reiki Session
Typically Reiki is given with the client fully clothed and lying on a healing couch. It can however be given in a chair if the client prefers. It can be very beneficial for people as well as animals. It provides the client with a wonderful feeling of being cared for and nurtured. While the Reiki is being given you feel warm, relaxed and most people usually drop off to sleep. The session usually lasts between half an hour and an hour.
Cost: £40 per session lasting approximately 1 hour. Initial session may take longer as full case history is taken.
Reiki Teaching:
I am happy to also attune people to Reiki and provide them with the ability to heal themselves and others. I offer courses on a 1:1 level and provide certificates and a manual once the course is completed. If you would like further details please do not hesitate to ask.
